The purpose of the Center for British-Literature and Shakespeare Studies is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the life and works of William Shakespeare. The Center's program of study in British-literature and Shakespeare Studies is specifically designed to help students to prepare for a teaching career in the interdisciplinary fields of English and English-literature studies, Comparative study of Literature, Psychology of Literature, Philosophy and Literature, or another closely related discipline of study. The program in British literature and Shakespeare studies offers students a unique opportunity to earn either a Master's degree or a Doctoral degree in English-Literature Studies at the graduate level. The British-Literature and Shakespeare Studies program is "interdisciplinary" in character, which means, students are "required" to work across their field of study in English-literature in order to "interface" their studies with another closely related discipline such as psychology or philosophy.


Admission Requirements:


1. Baccalaureate degree in philosophy, psychology, or a closely related discipline.
2. Master's degree in philosophy, psychology, or a closely related discipline.
3. Three letters of recommendation.
4. Three page statement outlining your career objectives.
5. A personal interview.
