The purpose of the Edith Stein Institute for Carmelite Studies is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the life and works of Edith Stein / Sister Benedicta of the Cross. The Institute's program of studies is specifically designed to help students to prepare for a teaching career in the "interdisciplinary" fields of philosophy, theology, psychology and Carmelite studies, or another closely related discipline of study. The program of studies on Edith Stein offers students a unique opportunity to earn either a Master's degree or a Doctoral degree in the field of philosophy (in phenomenological and existential philosophy) or philosophical theology (Carmelite studies) at the graduate level. The Edith Stein Studies program is "interdisciplinary" in character, which means, students are "required" to work across their field of study in order to "interface" their research with another closely related discipline.
Admission Requirements:
1. Baccalaureate degree in philosophy, psychology, or a closely related discipline.
2. Master's degree in philosophy, psychology, or a closely related discipline.
3. Three letters of recommendation.
4. Three page statement outlining your career objectives.
5. A personal interview.
